Padon 2019 FFA
“I am the current President of Quincy FFA chapter. I have been in FFA for almost four years now and I have enjoyed every second of it whether it’s from running meetings, showing at the fair, getting to know the members, and just having the opportunity to even be in the club. I’ve been around FFA ever since I was born with my FFA Advisor Dad, it’s always been close to me and I wouldn’t have I any other way. Every year I have had the opportunity to compete at State FFA Convention (except my 8th grade year) doing Parliamentary Procedure, meats evaluation, and livestock judging. This year I am competing in the same events but I’m also doing sales this year.
For the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to go to the National FFA Convention and I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am for being able to be a part of a higher level of involvement in the FFA. This year when we went, we competed in the Hall of States event and placed 3rd in the whole Nation, it was good to see all the hard work pay off in the end. I also am a part of the District 9 officer team where we do community service projects, hold workshops for chapter officers, and whole chapters to give leadership and speaking skills that will help them not only in FFA but in the future as well. I like being a District officer because it gives me a sense of higher leadership and benefits me by speaking to more people improving my speaking and leadership skills and just getting out of my comfort zone. This year my SAE is showing a steer out of my herd at the Grant County Fair, like I have done in previous years, and even in my time in 4-H. FFA is a huge part of my life and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.”
