Cooper 2019 FFA

“Since both sides of my family have been involved in Agriculture for as long as I can remember, it seems only natural that I’d be interested in Ag as well.

Springtime finds me playing baseball, branding calves and shipping them to spring pasture, harrowing hay fields, picking rocks and trapping gophers.

In the summer I help ship pairs to pasture in Molson, Washington.  I also participate in alfalfa and timothy hay production, as well as working with my show steers, preparing for the Grant County Fair.

Come fall, we’re bringing pairs home and weaning calves, playing football along with going to school, I stay pretty busy. During the winter season, I enjoy hunting and helping feed and calve cows.

While doing all these activities, I enjoy driving my Gen-1 Dodge pickup to Quincy High School where I am a junior this year.  With the support of my two FFA Advisors, I have the opportunity to participate in many FFA competitions.   This past year, I’ve enjoyed Apple judging, Potato Judging and Job Interview.  I’m currently practicing for Horse Judging, Extemporaneous Speaking and Livestock Evaluation.  I appreciate the time and support my advisors put into helping myself and so many other kids.  FFA is an opportunity for me to continue to learn about different Agriculture opportunities to help me with my future goals.”
