Alyssa 2 2019 FFA
“Taking a leap of faith and joining FFA my freshmen year was one of the best decisions I ever made. FFA has significantly changed my life forever. I have been involved with 4-H showing pigs and cattle since I was 9. Both of my parents were involved in 4-H growing up, so they encouraged me to show the species they showed. My mom enjoyed the pigs, and my dad the steers. I just recently started showing the steers. They are my favorite. Although 4-H really helped me get my feet wet within the agriculture field, FFA has allowed me to immerse in it. My freshmen year, I participated in a lot of contests, and enjoyed what FFA had to offer. Contests are probably my favorite part about FFA because they help me deepen my knowledge; however, I also appreciate the leadership’s aspects. Currently, I am the Moses Lake FFA Secretary as well as the District 9 Vice President. Even though it can be a lot to handle, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. With FFA Week this weekand multiple contests upcoming, it is a really busy season for FFA members across the state. This craziness helps teach me time management and how to overcome any obstacles. My time in FFA is not over yet, and I look forward to continuing to make an impact on the members within my community, district, and state. FFA has so much to offer to anyone willing to invest in it. It will give back to you as much as you put in it.”
